Originally by: Robinson Fargo I too am surprised at all the friendliness on this forum - not that I had expected a particuarly unfriendly response tho.
I have taken onboard all of the kind advice given and wisdom shared and I have come to the conclusion that I will train up 2 accounts - as it wont cause me too much financial bother. I will keep Robinson Fargo as a dedicated miner and I will train up a brand new Chairman Fargo to do the mission running/hauling.
I reckon this way I'll get the best of both worlds. Only trouble is that I usually play on OSX and as far as I know you can't have 2 clients open at once...but i'd happily be proved otherwise. I spose if that is the case I'll just use my windows machine when running both accounts.
One more thing though with regards to combat races/ships - I like the idea of Gallente as I see them as a kind of pet class and I've always favoured those. Unfortunatly they seem to be FOM at the moment and i'm always a bit wary of that. I want to fly a spaceship, not ride a bandwagon . I like the look of Amarr also, but capacitor issues scare the bejesus out of me. What are your thoughts on the differnt combat styles and weaknesses?
Thanks a million for all the advice.
Fargo
Some more advice, I'm a career miner/industrialist myself it's not as boring as some may want to believe if you do a bit more than just mine the ore.
Some advice in general about EVE, you've had some very nice and friendly interactions on these forums and that's great, but this is eve, you will die, you will get ganked, you will lose your ship, you will get your POD squished, you will get ransomed, you will get griefed, you will get your ore stolen and you will get scammed.
But all of that is what makes EVE, EVE.
1. Trust no-one, not even your corp/corp mates 2. never ever fly something you can not replace 3. allways have a ship you can use to earn isk tucked away safe an secure somewhere in high sec. 4. Trust no-one. 5. Don't smack, be a good sport accept your losses as a learning experience. 6. Trust no-one 7. Don't add to the 0.01 isk undercutting wars, you're just going to kill your own profit in the long term
and most importantly I'm not sure if I mentioned this... trust no-one
